Note: the inclusion of the same disclaimer above as is shown for other contributors on this site may seem strange as this is my web site. While I, of course, endorse my own beliefs, anyone’s beliefs and understandings can change over time. In my case, this would especially apply to material on my other website started over 10 years ago and could conceivably apply to some material on this site as well. Recognizing that we all grow in our understanding of truth, I would ask that readers acknowledge that for what I have written, for all contributors to this site and for yourselves as well.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Victoria, Victoria, British Columbia. For a number of years I worked as a biologist for the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans at the Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo, B.C. During that time, I learned the skills of doing in-depth research, putting material together in a logical manner and presenting it in written format. That has helped me in compiling and writing the information for my websites.
Over 40 years ago, my spiritual interest was kindled and I have learned much since – much about our wonderful God. About 15 years ago, I read my first book about the character of God and have read many since. Just in the last few years, I came to understand that there was more to understand about the beautiful character of my Savior and His Father Whose character He came to show us.
In our search for spiritual truth, surely the most important aspect is to know about the God we are seeking. If we want to spend eternity in His presence we should want to get to know Him and develop a relationship with Him now. I have found studying the Bible to get to know the character of God as it truly presents Him to be the most rewarding investigation in spiritual lines (or any line) that I have ever pursued.
Very recently, I sensed a need to help promoters of what has been called the Character of God message with a common place to feature their resources and be able to learn from each other – this website is the result. I hesitated a little at first but some gentle prodding and generous offers of assistance soon got me going on this project.
Many thanks to those who continue to offer encouragement and especially to those who also continue to promote this vital message. May our wonderful God continue to bless these efforts and may our goal always be to reach the point where:
“… the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” (Isa 11:9)
For some time I have thought of interviewing some of the contributors to my website. Marilyn Campbell (author of Light on the Dark Side of God) beat me to it and she proposed to interview me. The resulting 29-min interview can be viewed here:
Also, please visit my other website, originally built to share on research about the timing of Jesus’ resurrection but now includes a wide variety (over 350 pages) of spiritual material.
